Business relevance

Businesses rely upon biodiversity and the ecosystem services that it provides (both directly and indirectly), but businesses can also have significant impacts on biodiversity through their operations. More and more, companies are being required to disclose their biodiversity performance through national laws and regulations, as well as adhering to the standards of financial lending institutions. Decision makers at both the site level and the corporate level need information on biodiversity and performance data in order to improve their company’s biodiversity performance. 1
