Sustainable agriculture and aquaculture


There is no agreed definition of sustainable agriculture. Sustainability itself is a multi-dimensional concept, with sustainable agriculture incorporating environmental, economic and social criteria  1. The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations describes their vision of sustainable food and agriculture as “a world in which food is nutritious and accessible for everyone and natural resources are managed in a way that maintain ecosystem functions to support current as well as future human needs” 2.
