Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD)
Description
The Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures is an international initiative that builds on the model developed by the Taskforce on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD). TNFD aims to develop and deliver a framework for organisations to report and act on nature-related risks and opportunities, with the ultimate goal of channelling global financial flows away from nature-negative outcomes and toward nature-positive action.

Business relevance
More than half of the worlds’ economic output is estimated to be either moderately or highly dependent on nature. Therefore, nature loss presents both risks and opportunities for business. Financial institutions and businesses need information on how nature impacts their financial performance, both immediately and in the long-term, as well as how their organisation impacts nature.
